Allocation of $57,597 Additional Operating Funds FY 07-08, as recommended by the Excecutive, was ratified by the Board on 6 Dec 07. These funds have been made available to enhance techology transfer in existing projects and Legacy products.

LEME Project Pre-proposals 07-08
Please could all Project Leaders provide to their Program Leaders a brief project pre-proposal on the project Pre-Proposal Form can be found on the CRC Intranet at Pro Forma.
- To start the development of new projects or reshaping of existing projects and assess the financial and staffing implications earlier in the year.
- To provide summaries of proposed research activities to the Minerals and Land Use Advisory Councils for their consideration and advice, that allows the LUAC and MAC Chairs to report back to the March 07 Board Meeting.
Please provide short project descriptions only under the respective headings, provide only the number of dot points as set out in the form. This form does not replace the existing CRC Project Summary Form which will still be required for full project submissions later in April.
A reminder that the majority of project activity and emphasis, and therefore operating funds, must be directed towards de.ivery and publication - except those externally contracted projects that involve a leme $ commitment.
Could you please make all pre-proposals through the Program Leaders, who will consolidate the submissions prior to sending to Head Office Sue Game (susan.game@csiro.au) by Tuesday 30 January 2007.
The consolidated pre-proposals will go to LUAC and MAC seeking their input and recommendations in February 07. This feedback, along with our milestone achievement reports, annual project reviews and submission of the full Project Summaries will form the basis for setting our project investment priorities for 2007-08.

The Panel received presentations from respective Program Leaders, conducted invividual interviews with staff and students and studied the documentation provided. They provided an in-depth report to the CEO on the quality, relevance, adoption and competitive advantage CRC LEME research and Education and Training. This report was sent to the Board who gave permission for it to be released.
With the CRC funding ceasing in June 2008, the Panel was asked whether there is a demand for our regolith geoscience research and what potential mechanisms exist to continue current regolith geoscience collaboration and partnerships.
