Program 3 researched environmental applications
of regolith science in areas such as regolith background to dryland
salinity, assessment of regional geochemical baseline datasets,
mechanisms in acid sulphate and alkaline soils and microbiological
processes in groundwater geochemistry. An important part of Program
3 was the application of microbiological and hydrogeochemical processes
in other LEME Programs.

Following extensive review by the Executive, the CRC LEME Board approved the following portfolio of research projects for 2005-2006. These were multi-disciplinary, multi-party integrated projects. It was useful for management purposes to group them into a Program Structure.
