PALYNOSTRATIGRAPHIC ANALYSIS OF CORE AND CUTTINGS SAMPLES FROM THE LOWER BALONNE AREA, SOUTHERN QUEENSLAND , AUSTRALIA

INTRODUCTION

This report is one of six CRC LEME Open File Reports contributing to the Lower Balonne Airborne Geophysical Project funded by the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality. The project is providing new knowledge and developing methodologies for improved natural resource management in the Murray Darling Basin area of southern Queensland . This integrated project has a multidisciplinary team with skills in regolith geology, geomorphology, bedrock geology, hydrogeology, geophysics and soil science, working to understand the processes and controls on salinity in a variable regolith terrain.
